About Me

I moved to Devon from Hertfordshire with my family in 2010 and commuted back and forth to my job in St Albans for 3 years, which was very difficult for us as a family.

I am a qualified mechanical engineer by trade, however my real interest and passion is in making things, especially with wood. I also really enjoy all aspects of D.I.Y, especially fixing things. For many years I have worked for friends and family, fitting kitchens, painting and decorating, tiling, building fences, gates, raised beds, decking etc.

Whilst commuting, I started working for myself as a handy man, property maintenance, decorator etc, on my days off, to help finance my commuting costs.

I  also started a little facebook page where I sell wooden items I make out of recycled pallets and reclaimed materials, called Up the Junktion. I loved the work I do for both of these little businesses and dreaded the long commute up the M5/M4/M25, so in February 2014, I took the plunge, handed my notice in and started working for myself full time.

I am enthusiastic, hardworking, reliable and honest and can turn my hand to most things, no job too big or small, as they say. I have many years of experience and my rates are very reasonable. From building a wooden gate to fit a specific space, to installing shelving, to building some bespoke raised beds to tiling a wet room, boxing in pipework, plumbing in a washing machine, installing decking to tree lopping, grass cutting, repairing and painting fascia boards, you name it, I can more than likely do it.

I am based in Harpford near Newton Poppleford and can cover Exeter, Dawlish, Exmouth, Newton Poppleford, Sidmouth, Ottery St Mary, Colaton Raleigh and all the villages in between.
